So the poorest country in Europe, many Ukrainian women rent wombs, this is the rate

Since the massive invasion launched by Russia, Ukraine's economic condition has worsened. In fact, it is said that many women there are forced to provide uterine rental services to meet their daily lives.

According to the data compiled, it is estimated that the average Ukrainian woman who becomes a surrogate mother will get paid around US $ 17,500 to US $ 25000 or around Rp 250 million to Rp 358 million.

That makes many women in Ukraine interested in the business. But unfortunately, this surrogate sometimes does not receive the payment as promised.

Sometimes even the Ukrainian woman is placed in an inadequate room, while entering the final stages of pregnancy. The parents of the fetus are not genetically related to the baby born to the surrogate mother.

Conditions that have occurred recently have caused many Ukrainians to depend on the business of renting or borrowing wombs.

The method used is by way of surrogacy. It allows a couple to have children without getting pregnant.

Later, the pregnancy will occur in the womb of the surrogate mother, the doctor will unite the sperm and eggs from the original parents and will be transferred to the womb of the surrogate mother until pregnancy and childbirth occur.

The business happened because Ukraine has quite lax rules regarding surrogacy, than in many other European countries, including in the UK when a baby is born by surrogacy method, the name of the foster mother will be included in the birth certificate.

But in Ukraine, the parent's name will be written as father and mother is the womb inspector, this makes it easier if they want to apply for a passport and bring their baby home.

According to a BBC News report, every year at least 2000 babies are born by surrogacy in Ukraine. The baby's original parents were mostly from overseas including Canada, Italy, and China.

This business has been legalized since 2002. This business is even supported by a number of official companies that act as intermediaries, as well as medical procedures for uterine rental services.

This uterine rental business began to be suspected by many authorities, that some clinics were using surrogacy as a cover for illegal

The Ukrainian Commission for the Rights of the Child, Mykola Kuleba, condemned the exploitation of Ukrainian women and banned the industry. But so far the Ukrainian government has remained silent and the womb rental business continues to this day.

For information, if GDP per capita is used as a reference, Ukraine ranks first as the poorest country in Europe. According to Country Economy, Ukraine's GDP per capita is 3,724 US dollars, while Russia's GDP per capita is 10,115 US
